Leanne-marie-blog

Hello girlies... theres a poser pic for you above! Ha! I liked my makeup so I thought I would snap a picture! Please excuse my frizzy hair! Pass me the serum! I think I had about 20+ photos of my face and this was the only decent one, always the way hey!

Anyways this is just a lil' message to say that I hope you all have a fab Christmas and New Year. Later on this evening I am leaving on a jet plane to Oman to stay with Toms family over Christmas/NY. I'm not quite in holiday mode as I feel its kinda crept up on me (even though I've known since the beginning of the year!) that last min exercise regimen that everyone does before going away to a hot country didn't happen, so I'm feeling a bit 'meh' about sunbathing and such (altho i don't think I would be doing too much as you have to be quite covered up in Oman I think, its only in hotel pools you can be like 'hello heres me in a bikini'. Beaches are a more 'heres me sunbathing in long shorts and a tshirt' but we shall see..) but this is why fake tan was invented so i may be slapping some of that on when I return!  I was hoping to make some duty free purchases at the airport but I dont have any money! Hopefully I can pick something up on the way back though - but I dont know what sort of selection duty free will offer over in Oman!

I'm looking forward to New Year as I now have my outfit sorted and Republic have come up trumps with these Glitter heels that will be worn to see in 2012! I'm also going to try my best not to use any appliances on my hair while I'm away to give it a bit of a break! (apart from NYE of course)

So I'll stop rambling on now as I still have a lot of packing and tidying up to do! So I hope you all have a very happy Christmas, I hope Santa brings you lots of lovely things! I'll look forward to reading all your posts when I am back! (I'm so nosey so post what you get) Dread to think how many blogposts will be in my google reader when i return!!

Just like many others I am sure, I am signed up to more than one Beauty Box. I currently recieve Feel Unique and Glossybox. This month will be when I make the big decision on who to drop and who to keep. As much as I like both boxes I cant afford to keep paying out for more than one (I do have a wedding to save for ya' know!) I know a lot more people are signed up to GB than Feel Unique (Nearly abbreviated that but....well no I cant do that, oh dear!) & I theres always blogposts on GB but not that many on Feel unique so I thought I'd share with you what I got in this months box! (Can I just say I hate the winter, trying to take photographs becomes so difficult!)

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
The theme for the December box is 'Finishing Touches; Add something magic to your Christmas'. I'll be honest, when I see the word Magic I expect Sparkle... however there isn't anything sparkly in the box, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good one.  The samples we have received have been provided with the intention to help us get ready for the party season. Those last little things we need to do here and there. So What did I get I hear you cry?!

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
First up, you need to ensure your skin is well prepared for the winter months and in tip top condition ready for all that makeup its going to have to endure over the Christmas party season. So Feel Unique have provided a 30ml Clarisonic Cleanser. I received the 'Refreshing Gel' cleanser for Normal/oily skin. I think there may be some variation with what one you get in your box. It can be used with or without a Clarisonic brush (Thankfully as I don't own one) It retails at £21 for a full sized tube which (I think - Maths isn't my strong point) means this sample is about £3 ish. I will use this sample but I have other cleansers to use up first. (Seriously I don't think I've bought a new cleanser in months thanks to all these samples in Beauty Boxes!)

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
Staying with the idea of keeping our skin looking gorgeous, we have the Figs & Rougue Sweet Geranlum 100% Organic balm. I love that we got this as I missed out on the all purpose balm in the Boudoir Prive box as I unsubbed from them. Its a full sized product at retails at £3.49. It can be used on your lips as a lip balm or any dry patches on your skin ensuring that they stay nice and soft. This is something that will definitely come in handy, You always want perfect kissable lips for the kisses under the mistletoe and for the countdown at New Year! Use on elbows and knees to avoid patch fake tan! I think this will be an item I pop into my handbag so I always have it with me, considering its such a multi tasking product.

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
I am a big fan of Nails inc Polishes so when I saw this mini version on my box I was pretty happy. I don't own any other baby pink nail polishes from the brand so this is a welcome addition to my collection! The full sized version on the website retails for £11 and comes in two other shades. Did anyone get one of the other shades? With the miniature versions of polishes I usually use them to do an alternative manicure tip or for some kind of  polka dots on my nails! So I'll use it when I next change my nails and do a little Nails of the day feature for you all!

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
With the next item I was a little bit disappointed about. Tigi's Candy FixationsSugar Dust; A micro texture root powder. It's a full sized product which is fab however its so similar to the Osis Mattifying powder we received in a previous box which I still have lots of left. However it will be nice to try a different brand though as I didn't feel that the Osis one worked that well with my hair. Like I said this is a full sized product and retails for £9.35, we all want big voluminous hair for the party season so hopefully this will help me achieve it!

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
Finally a perfume sample that actually looks like a perfume! Yes I do have a bit of a problem with perfume samples in beauty boxes however as this one actually looks like a proper bottle I don't mind it! Feel unique usually throw in the samples as extras but this time round its classed as one of the main products. Its the Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Toilette which retails at £62.05 for 100ml. I think its about 25ml which is a very generous sample (hence it not being an extra). It came in a dark purple organza pouch to match the deep colour of the bottle. I'm not very good at describing scents, but it smells a bit musky but then also a bit citrusy to me! I don't really like it though which is a shame because I love the packaging of it! :-( Not sure what I will do with the bottle really!

December-2011-feel-unique-beauty-box
Feel Unique still threw in a little added extra this month (which I always love) in the form of 3 sachets from Living Nature. The Vitalising Cleanser, and two sachets of the nourishing day cream. Looking at the leaflets provided I think I was meant to get the toner but ended up with two day creams instead! Not worried about it though as its just the little extra addition on top of the 5 samples I've paid for.

So Overall I am pleased with the box, Ill definitely use 4 of the items I received minus the perfume (Maybe ill just keep it to look pretty among my other perfumes!)  I wish it had been a bit more festive though, perhaps a glitter nail polish instead of the baby pink one would have been enough for me! But all in all it was a pretty good box.

I have to say that when it comes to how much use I get out of the products between GB & Feel Unique I always seem to use the Feel Unique ones rather than GB but we shall see what Decembers Glossy box delivers and then Ill make that all important  descision!

Did you get this months Feel Unique beauty box, what did you think about it. Perhaps you've also got to make the big decision this month on who to stick with?!

Primark Winter Warmers.

primark-winter-warmers

At the weekend Tom and I took a trip to Basingstoke to Primark. We dont have a Primark in our town so its always a bit of a treat/lets spend a lot of money moment when we do go to one.  I have wanted a furry hat for ages. It is getting colder now, and I do go with my Dad to watch football and that gets cold in the evenings so I knew I would get wear out of one! This one was reduced in Primark to £5.90 - Altho the signs on the shelf said £5 but I never said anything to the cashier woops! -  I couldnt say no really, & I love it - I'm even wearing it now as I type! - Please ignore my slightly odd face in the photo! You dont know how hard it is to take a decent photo of yourself while the light is slowly fading! - yes this is a scheduled post and I am writting it on Sunday evening, organised blogging! lol

primark-winter-warmers.

I decided to pick up these mittens too which were only £3! They are fleece lined and I love the pattern on them! I know it will be a pain wearing these as I like to be on my phone a lot, and it will mean taking them off to text/tweet! I usually get my gloves from accessorize and I had my eyes one these ones but I do feel they are pricey and as I always loose gloves I didnt want to pay too much for some! Which leads me onto another thing about these mittens, they have the strings so I can thread them through the arms of my coat so I dont lose them if I do take them off! Love it!

Where do you get your winter essentials from?

Review : 17 Metalic Eyes 'Wild Nude'

Wednesday, 7 December 2011

17-Wild-Metallic-Eyes-Wild-Nude
17-Wild-Metallic-Eyes-Wild-Nude

After swatching the Chanel illusion d'ombre shadows with Charli, I fell in love....unfortunatley I didnt fall in love with the price tag. But when the word on the street was that these 17 Metallic Eyes shadows were much affordable dupes of the Chanel ones, I had to try them out.

I decided to go for Wild Nude, which is a lovely chamapange/ neutral shade which is perfect for me as I am all for a brown/neutral smokey eye on a day to day basis! There are a selection of other shades which are avaliable and I was tempted to pick up some of the darker shades for a more dramatic smokey eye look for the evenings, but stuck with one that I knew I would get a lot of use out of.

17-Wild-Metallic-Eyes-Wild-Nude

They arent mousse shadows as they are a bit harder than that, but apply really creamy and a little goes a long way. They are perfect to use on their own or paired with other shadows blended on top, depending on how much time you have to do your makeup! If I am in a rush, I just add a swipe of Mac Painterly over my lid and then using my finger I just do a swipe of Wild Nude over the top, some gel liner and mascara and I am ready to go!

Do you have any of these shadows, are there any shades I 'need' to have in my collection as I managed to restrain myself from buying more this time!

New boots : Allgera Who?

black-ankle-boots.
black-ankle-boots.

Topshop Allegra's have been the talk of the town on Youtube and on blogs for months, Ever since the lovely Lily blogged about them , everyone seemed to go mad for them. Selling out online and not many stores stocking them means that there are now a fair few listings on Ebay selling them for much more than the RRP. Now I'll be honest, at first I thought they were ugly.. then I saw them on display in store and actually changed my mind, proving that sometimes stock photos online dont always do the product justice. But another thing stood in my way...the price. I couldnt justify throwing £75 at a pair of black boots so I went on the hunt for an alternative. There some good copies/Similar ones on E-bay Which are pretty affordable too, however I came to the descision that I wanted to be different and try and find some other style Black ankle boots instead, so I found these.

I got these from New Look thanks to the heads up from Vicki She also let me know the 25% Discount code she used, meaning I got them for £14.99 instead of £19,.99! Now at full price they arent breaking the bank so I would have happily paid that, but what girl cant turn down a bit of discount! Unfortunately the black are now sold out online but you may still be able to get them in store. They do have the tan version online still, which would make a nice addition to your wardrobe! It also came to my attention (thanks to Siobhan) that they are actually a similar style to the Topshop Ambush boots! So Again if you want to save some pennies pick these up instead.

I've wanted to start wearing heels more in the day as I am a shorty, so these have been a great addition to my wardrobe. Even Tom approves of these boots, as they are heels I can actually walk in and I'm not moaning about my feet hurting! I've worn them everyday since they arrived in the post last Thursday!

Wednesday Wishlist.

Wednesday, 30 November 2011

Everyone is raving about the JK Light as air foundation and this means I feel like I need it in my life! It's had really great reviews and a lot of beauty gurus swear by it. The price varies, but the cheapest I have found it is at BeautyBay.com. I nearly bought it on payday as they also had a 10% off deal on but I didnt. I do have enough foundations at the moment and should wait till one of them runs out! Check me out being sensible!

Another thing I very nearly bought on payday. The NARS Danmari All about cheeks palette. At £45 I decided there were a lot of other things that that money could go towards. As much as I love it and am becoming a bit of a NARS junkie. I just couldnt justify buying it when I have lots of other highlighters/bronzers and blushers in my collection... Saying this though, if the oportunity arose that someone bought it for me for christmas.. I wouldnt ask them to send it back! :-)

wednesday-wishlist

I really am into layering this winter. Taking my summer dresses and chucking on some thick tights with knee high socks and boots! While browsing the H&M website, I came across these two dresses that I just need! At £12.99 they are so affordable and look like they would be a really flattering fit!  I love the stripe dress, I wouls so wear it with wedge boots, black tights and a bright coloured cardigan. The leopard print-esque dress I would wear with my new brown boots also from h&m (which I will blog about soon)  thick cream socks, black tights and a chunky knit cardigan! LUSH.

Now if someone would like to donate some funds into my bank account so I can buy these 4 items please, that would be lovely! :-)

What do you repurchase?

Monday, 28 November 2011

When watching Holly's (Yummy Mummy Beauty Blog)  video about the products she was hitting pan/repurchasing, she made a very good point that not many people vlog or blog about the products they always repurchase or are planning to repurchase as they are impressed with the item. Its always blog posts or videos about the newest product in their collection. So this got me thinking...which products do I always repurchase...well thats easy, my eye makeup remover and concealer.

repurchase-boots-eye-makeup-remover

This is my eyemakeup remover..its probably my 5th bottle of it?! So Its clear that it is a firm favourite with me! Its The Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover so gentle on your eyes and removes all my eye makeup effortlessly. At only £3.05 (not sure where that 5p comes from!) its an affordable product that does the job! I have introduced this to quite a few of my friends and they have agreed that it is an excellent 'drugstore' makeup remover. I do have the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser that I was kindly sent to review.. I will be using that and reviewing, once I have finished with this eye makeup remover!

lasting-perfection-concealer

If you ask anyone in the beauty blogging community what is a good 'drugstore' concealer I'm pretty certain most will suggest this one. Its the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. I would say this is possibly my 3rd tube of it. It's definately more expensive than when I first repurchased it, but at £4.19 it's still not too bad really! It has great coverage and comes in a nice selection of shades. Perfect for hiding my dark circles and any nasty blemishes that come my way!

So what products do you always repurchase?

Review : NARS Modern Love Palette.

Nars-Modern-Love-eyeshadow-palette-blog-post-swatches
Nars-Modern-Love-eyeshadow-palette-blog-post-swatches

After picking up the Pleasures of Paris palette a couple of months ago, I have been drawn to the Nars palettes. I love their eyeshadows and think that buying a palette is a more money savvy way of trying out different shades instead of buying them individually! Plus theres always such a great range of shades within one palette so I know I will use them all and get my moneys worth!

I picked up this Modern Love palette from ASOS, when they had a bit of a discount on certain beauty products. I admit that £31 for the palette seemed much more acceptable for me to spend rather than £39, it was in my basket and I was heading straight to the checkout. (On a side note, I do love that they do a super saver delivery option which is free - perfect when you are buying items that you dont really need in a rush! To be honest the delivery doesnt take that much longer either so I dont know why more people dont choose this option!) They currently have a 25% Student discount going on so with super saver delivery you could get it for just £29.25! - Cheaper than what I paid!

Top Row : Alhambra (Shimmer), Jezebel (Shimmer), India Song (Shimmer)
Nars-Modern-Love-eyeshadow-palette-blog-post-swatches
Bottom Row: Tokyo (Shimmer), Habanera (Shimmer), Pandora (matte)

As you can see they are all really wearable shades. Some of which you could wear on their own for a quick wash of colour over the lid, or you can combine two or more shades for a more dramatic eye makeup look. I'll be honest I havent had that much of a chance to play around with the colours yet, but just by looking at the eyeshadows in the pan I can see lots of different combinations for a variation of looks! So excited to start experimenting with it!

Do you have this palette, or maybe you now want it? (Hi Maxine! :-p) I think its a lush little palette that would be great for everyone thanks to the great range of shades!

Some of you may have heard of the brand Neal & Wolf before, would I be correct in saying that you found out about them thanks to Glossybox? I'll admit, thats where I first heard about them. Back in the September Glossybox, some subscribers were lucky enough to nab a Neal & Wolf product in their box. You got either the Glow Super shine spray or Harmony Intensive care treatment. Unfortunatly I did not recieve any products from the range which I was quite dissapointed about, however the lovely Samara from N&W offered to send me one of them to try out and review, so as my hair was in need of a bit of TLC i chose the Harmony treatment.

I was really excited to try this after seeing numerous tweets from others claiming that their hair felt amazing after using it.. and they werent lying! This is one of those hair products where you can really see/feel the difference straight away after one use. You dont need to use too much product to get an even coverage over your hair after washing (well I didnt need to)

It really does smell lovely, it is quite a musky scent but it's not one of those 'old lady' musky scents that a lot of people dislike! The scent lingers on my hair after Ive styled it so I keep getting wafts of it throughout the day which is nice! Straight after using this product on my hair I noticed that my hair was a lot less tangled than it usually is and my trusty Tangle Teaser combed through my hair with ease. So if you are one that suffers with knotty hair after a shower, this is a must for you!
Once dried fully and styled my hair looks a lot more healthy and shiny.I have been using this once a week regularly and I can honestly say my hair feels a lot nicer and I put it down to using this treatment.

It retails at £12.95 for 200ml and £25.95 for 950ml, which you can get from their website. For me personally this product will be repurchased as I have seen great results on my hair after using it. Have you tried out any Neal & Wolf products before, do you want to?

The current must have item in the beauty blogging world would have to be the OPI Rainbow Connection from the Muppets Collection. Yes I tinkered with the idea of buying it from ASOS with a cheeky bit of discount but instead I decided to hunt out for a possible dupe..and I found one.

I introduce to you Miliani 'Gems' nail polish....

milani-gems-nail-polish
milani-gems-nail-polish
milani-gems-nail-polish
milani-gems-nail-polish

At first glance it's pretty clear this has the same multi packed glitter as the OPI one, they are pretty much identical! The best thing though, is that the Milani polish retails a lot cheaper, the downside being I think you can only get it from the US. With the current exchange rate it works out about £2.50. I bought mine from Cherry Culture, which is a site I have mentioned previously when talking about my NYX Glitter polishes. Yes you do pay more for postage - I think it was around £7 But they have such a great range of brands on their site, once you're browsing you find more things you want to buy and it makes it all worth while! Delivery wise, they are pretty good, It took just over a week I would say for them to arrive. Not bad at all.

On the image above I am wearing two or three (I cant remember how many I did. forgive me I was watching New Moon at the time! Hello Jacob and Edward!) coats of Milani Gems. I didnt put a base colour down on my nails first just kept them natural. I really love how you can do one coat of this on top of a different colour and it adds sparkle, or just go all out and do multiple coats and just have that big WOW factor! :-)

Unfortunately I dont have the Rainbow Connection to do a side by side comparison but the lovely Louise has done a blog post on it, so hop over to her blog and you can see how similar they really are!

So will you be picking up OPI Rainbow Connection or going for the more money savvy version of Milani Gems?

new-look-blouses
new-look-blouses
new-look-blouses
new-look-blouses

I just thought I would share these two pretty tops that I recently purchased from New Look. My sister has just started working in there, so keeps purchasing items with her discount.. I then see said items and need to have them for myself! Firstly I got this Double Collar Blouse which has the cutest collar and cuff detailing! I bought this and then saw Zoe wearing it in one of her haul videos! Its just so girly and elegant looking. I love wearing it with skinny jeans or tucked into a high waisted skirt for work!

As I may have mentioned before. I dont really go out on nights out that often. I'm old and boring and really only go out on nights in the town for friends birthdays or other special occassions. Gone are the days where I have to be out EVERY weekend! Having said that, there are occassions where i will go out on a bit of a spontanious last mintue gathering in town with my friends. This always means I am faffing trying to find something decent to wear! So when I saw this Art Deco Top (Unfortunately this is no longer avaliable online but may still be in store!), I had to have it as its the perfect top to just quickly throw on with jeans and some heels and still be glammed up! I love the bead/sequin detailing on it, altho Ill be sad if any of them start to fall off!

So are you anything like me, and are getting to that age where you need some full proof 'night out' attire for those spontanious moments? - I think this is a sign im getting old! haha.

When i took my trip to Cardiff (that was so long ago now!), Charli and I went on a little shopping trip into the city centre. I don't think either of us had set out on a mission to spend money, just to have a browse around, check out some makeup counters swatch a few bits etc. In the end we ended up having our makeup done at the Illamasqua counter in Debenhams.

After having my face 'made up' The lovely Charlotte wrote down all the items she used, now I am not made of money so I just picked 2 bits up, firstly it was the new skin base foundation which I will review soon, and secondly the new blusher from the Theatre of the Nameless collection in 'Ambition'(Currently sold out on the Illamasqua website. However it is in stock on ASOS and you can get an extra 10% off with a NUS Extra card!)

illamasqua-ambition-blush
illamasqua-ambition-blush

This blush wouldn't have been one of the items I would instantly reach for as in the pan it looked quite a dark pink (twell for me it looks dark!) and I didnt think it would suit my skin colouring. However when Charlotte put it across my cheeks I thought it looked lovely! I was instantly sold! The blush has gold glitter running through it, now I am not one to shy away from a bit of glitter, its not a bad thing in my opinion, its just with some products theres too much packed in so you end up looking like a discoball if you arent careful! However Ambition has just the right amount of glitter to give you a nice looking glow on your cheeks, as well as a hint of pink colour.

The colour is really easy to build up, so you could go for a subtle glow if you use a light hand or be a bit more heavy handed for a more daring brighter look.

Illamasqua-theatre-of-the-nameless-blusher-ambition-review-blog-post

Have you bought anything from the Theatre of the nameless range? There's a lot of lovely products! If I could I would have a bit of a spending spree on the  Illamasqua website!

Now I know Victoria is the Queen of finding cheaper alternatives of more expensive items for us thanks to her ebay skillz. If you havent checked out her Ebay -Designer Inspired posts, then you must do! However while searching said auction site looking for the perfect ankle boots I came across a style which I instantly recognised...

brown-ankle-boots

You cant deny that these boots are gorgeous, however with the £100 price tag its not the sort of thing I would just snap up without thinking about it. £100 on shoes (personally) is a lot of money! These are a firm fave with Mollie King from the Saturday's, I have seen her sporting these on a few occassions, here & here

brown-ankle-boots
Ebay Link

So you can imagine my delight when these popped up on my screen while searching for black ankle boots. As you can see these are very similar to the River Island ones pictured above (ok they arent identical but its close) however at a fraction of the price at £32.95 + postage.  Both are platformed, have the plait strap detail around the back and gold fastening on the side. Admittedly the soles are a different colour on the Ebay ones and the River Island ones do look a bit better, however if you're on a budget these would be a good alternative.

So have you ever managed to find a item of clothing or pair of shoes because you shopped around and found a similar style for a more money savvy price?

Let's take a moment to appreciate this beaut of a palette....

Nars-Pleasures-of-Paris-Eyeshadow-palette-swatches-blog-post
Nars-Pleasures-of-Paris-Eyeshadow-palette-swatches-blog-post

Ahh, so pretty! I had been lusting after this palette for absolutely ages, well over a year to be honest. I had to have it, but the sensible side of me told me it was a lot of money (for me personally) to spend on 6 eyeshadows! However I had one of those "Oh screw it, just buy it!" moments and then next thing I knew I was receiving my order confirmation email from NARS!
I can say that I am really pleased that I took the plunge and bought this palette. The shades are perfect to create a natural daytime look or a darker smokey eye look for nightime. It's a smaller alternative to my Urban Decay Naked palette, as the Nars one is smaller it is easier to carry around in a smaller makeup bag when I go away.

Nepal (Shimmer) Violetta (Matte) Demon Row (Matte)

Nars-Pleasures-of-Paris-Eyeshadow-palette-swatches-blog-post
Fez (Shimmer) Abyssinia (shimmer) Courdura (Shimmer)

Nepal and Fez are the two shades that I can easily use indivudually for a wash of colour over the lid on work days paired with gel eyeliner and mascara.
For a night time smokey eye I combine, Nepal all over the lid, Fez in the outer corner and then Courdura or Demon row in the crease/outter V.
Violetta all over the lid and Demon row in the crease make a great light smokey eye which can be worn in the daytime.
I use Abyssinia in the very corners (tearduct area) when I want to brighten up my eyes a little.

Do you have this palette,do you love it as much as me? Which shadows do you combine? Let me know in the comments!
You can get this palette from the Nars website (Currently IN STOCK - Be quick it sells out fast) and it retails for £37.00

NYX Glitter Nail Polishes.

Tuesday, 8 November 2011

I am a magpie. I just love anything that sparkles, especially glitter nail polishes. They instantly freshen up a manicure if you've got a bit of chipping and dont have time to re do all your nails again. They are great for parties and the festive season as you can get such a variety!

I was browsing the Cherry Culture website, where I came across the NYX Girls polishes... now there were a lot of glitters to choose from but I decided on the following three; Super Funk, Carnival & Dreamy Glitter. All very different from one another.

nyx-glitter-nail-polish

I loved the shade of the Super Funk polish, I liked (from the swatch online - if you can even call it that?) The large glitter particles looked like they came across quite sparce on your nail, therefore it would be a perfect polish just to give your manicure that something extra.

nyx-glitter-nail-polish

As you can see from the swatch, it does apply quite spaced out which is something I love. Obviously you could build it up with more coats if you wanted more coverage. But I like it how it is after one coat personally! I havent seen another polish like this in this colour purple so this is one I definitley advise you to pick up!

I chose Carnival as it reminded me a lot of 'Happy Birthday' by Deborah Lippmann I have been looking out for a more affordable dupe for this polish as I cant justify spending £16 on it! At $1.99 This was a very affordable alternative (of course you have to take into account exchange rates and shipping costs, but you still pay a lot less) it is also quite similar to the new Rainbow Connection polish by OPI.  This could also be a good alternative which you could build up using more coats for a more opaque look.

It is very easy to apply, You dont need a lot of coats to get a good coverage. If you wanted to go all out for a party you could do a few coats over a white polish to give you that wow factor. But as a general "I want to have a bit of sparkle" one coat will be enough.

Finally I picked up Dreamy Glitter.. as I felt it would look fab over nails painted in a light shade. The flitter is really fine therefore it's one of those polishes that adds that little something extra to a simple look. Its much more understated compared to the other two polishes I picked up. But I still love it!

One coat of this is perfect to achieve a bit of sparkle. As well as the smaller and more chunky bits of glitter throughout the polish theres also the added extra of little star shaped glitter which is really cute!

So like I said all these polishes retailed at $1.99 which is a bargain! Carnival is 10ml , Super Funk & Dreamy Glitter are 12ml. I think they are great value for money, and as they are glitters you arent necessarily going to use them all the time so they will last you ages! If you would like to see any of these polishes over other colours, please let me know in the comments and I will put together a post for you.

Much Love
