Another new purse...

Friday, 22 April 2011

Yes I know, I only just got my Ted Baker purse!

However, this was an opportunity I was not going to miss! I don't know if you are aware of The Outnet. It is a website that sells designer pieces at a discounted price, basically its past season stock, hence why they can deduct some money off the cost. Last week they had a special 2nd birthday sale.
It was no ordinary sale though, You had to apply to get a ticket as only 2000 people were allowed to enter it. You just had to fill in the application form in order to be in with a chance of winning a ticket. When doing so, it said that the top 200 sharers would get a place.
To increase my chance of possibly getting a look into this sale I sent emails about it to my friends, and by doing so I ended up being one of the top 200 sharers, therefore guaranteeing me a ticket.

Now the best part... as this was their 2nd birthday sale... everything was £2! That's right, £2! Now you see why I was so keen to get a ticket for it?! There were rules though, you could only buy 1 item and once you have bought that item you were 'kicked out' of the sale, meaning you couldn't get back in.

Unfortunately, by the time I got to work and realised the sale was actually live I had missed a chance on a handbag as they were all sold out! They included  Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Lavin to name a few. So my next thought was to go to accessories and pick up something there. In the end I got this Sara Berman purse. Full price it would have been £112 but in this sale.. £2. I snapped it up and eagerly awaited its arrival

I ordered it on the Friday and it arrived on the Monday. Happy days.
Its sheepskin leather and has the studded detail on one flap. I love it but I have one problem. I don't know how I am going to use it without losing something. There are no card slots, just the zipped section for coins. As its leather it is so floopy that I would be scared to carry any cash or cards with me in case they fell out!
I am a bit undecided about what to do to it, do I keep it and use it as I should; as a purse. Use it as a small makeup bag maybe? or just sell it on ebay? I cant decide! It is gorgeous though and I do love it, just a little impractical!

I hope everyone is having a good start to their Easter break. It feels so much like a Saturday even though its Friday morning. Ive been awake since 7am too so it currently feels  a lot later than it really is! I am now off to get ingredients to make chicken tikka tonight. YUM!

Much love.

Hi Ladies,

Today I've got a review for you, however this time around it isnt a beauty product!
Tights please contacted me and asked if I would be interested in giving some shapewear a try & review it on my blog. Of course I said yes. My problem area is my stomach. I hate it. As I have mentioned many times before (especially in the last few weeks) I would like a flatter tum. Sometimes you just need that extra bit of help and that's where SPANX come in handy. The Style I have to review are the SPANX Super Power Panties in Black. They retail at £28.00 & come in Black or a more versitle shade; Fleshtone.

Firstly I'll start of with stating how easy it is to work out your size. I always thought they came in generic sizes. Small, Medium and Large. But I was wrong. If you go onto the Tightsplease website and look on their size guide you can find how to work out which size you need to get. All you need to know is your height and weight. Then Depending on where you meet in the middle is the size you need! So simple & easy!

When I first took the shapewear out of the packet and looked at them properly, my first thoughts were "Oh my god, how am I going to fit in these" I am not exaggerating when I say the waistband was the width of my thigh! Fear not though girls, you may have a moment of panic but dont worry these babies stretch! So I carefully put the panties on. (I'm sorry but when I say panties all I can think of is Cheryl in Miss Congeniality!) I was really surprised at how easy they were to get on. Having never delved into the wonderful world that is magic knickers/control pants.. whatever you like to call them, I was under the illusion you required a shoe horn to get them on, but this was not the case. They went on with ease and so far I was impressed!

This particular style has the longer leg lengths which help shape your upper thighs as well, which is a big bonus. The last thing you want  is to  have the support for your stomach and then your thighs let you down! They are very comfortable and didnt feel tight at all. The only con of using these means there are certain outfits that you could not wear them with, I tried them out with a playsuit I own and the leg bits were visible as my playsuit was shorter!  However longer length body con dresses, skirts and trousers would be fine to wear with them underneath. The are very streamlined so dont show through your clothes either so know one needs to know you're having a bit of extra help!

Does it create the illusion of a flat stomach I hear you cry? Well it really does! I admit I was a bit sceptical about it and part of me didnt think they would work, but thanks to the tummy taming panel it really does hold in that extra bit of 'podge' as I like to call it! lol I was a bit worried about them being a bit tight and suffocating me a bit but they really dont, they are surprisingly very comfortable. Okay so they arent the most attractive of undergarments but they do their job that's for sure and if you have an item of clothing that you avoid wearing because you dont feel so confident in because you've got a little bit of extra weight around your middle, these could be the answer you are looking for!

Here are two pictures of me in a dresse which I always feel very self concious wearing due to the tightness around the middle! You can see the difference the SPANX shapewear makes.

Without the spanx
(This photo is also a perfect example of why I am doing the 30 day shred!)

With the Spanx.
A much flatter stomach and my overall shape is a lot smoother

So if like me, you hate your tum and want a simple but effective way to rectify the problem for special occassions  these control pants are a good investment in my opinion! So pop over to Tights please and have a look at what they have to offer. They also stock an amazing range of tights including Henry Holland...Suspender tights anyone? You can also pay with paypal on there, which is always a bonus! Especially for us girlies that use Ebay and are filling up our paypal accounts!  :-)

I hope this review was helpful for you and if you have any questions just ask me in the comments!

Much Love

Hi Ladies.

Up for review today we have another infamous Soap and Glory product. I'll be honest, that before I received it in my gift set at Christmas I didn't know it existed! But since using it I know it is going to be product that it will have a permanent home in my bathroom!

The first thing I noticed about the shower gel is its size. You get 500ml of product for £3.41 (as its currently on offer in boots. Usually £5.11) which I think is really good. I knew it was going to last me ages and it really has! Like I said I have had it since Christmas and I am only just coming to the end of the bottle! You can buy this from boots or directly from the Soap & Glory website.

This gel has a really pleasant scent, it isn't overpowering like some other products can be, it also lingers on your skin after you have showered which is nice! Its best used with a shower puff as then it gets really foamy and lathers a lot more! A little goes a long way too so you hardly have to use anything to use on your entire body. It still lathers up well without using a shower puff but I personally prefer it! Because Clean on me contains body lotion, your skin feels so soft and smooth after using it! The good thing is that if you forget to moisturise afterwards it isn't so bad as the shower gel has done that for you!

I would definitely re purchase this shower gel, it lasts for a long time so its so worth the money. Smells devine! Its really moisturising.. really theres nothing bad to say about it!!  Boots usually have 3 for 2 on Soap and glory products so make sure you look out for them next time you go to pick up a few items!

Much Love

This was my 2nd ASOS groupon purchase. A gorgeous Ted Baker purse! At the end of the day I bought this for £15 instead of £60, thanks to the £20 Groupon voucher and then the £25 credit on my account thanks to winning the 'Have one on us' competition ASOS held through facebook.

I really love it, although I admit I had to get rid of a lot of rubbish that was being stored in my old purse! Cards that I no longer use, along with lots of reciepts! I do wish that my initials were T & B though as that would just make the purse even more fantastic!
The pictures pretty much speak for themselves, its gorgeous!!
The title of this post is actually what is written inside the purse along one of the edges! Pretty cool eh!

Wednesday Wishlist #3

Cath Kidston Bag £25.00  ASOS
Soul Cal Deluxe Lumberjack Shirt £39.99 Republic
Molly Suede Bow Front Platforms £25.00 Dress Rail
Tigi Headshots Epic Volume Tween Duo £20.99 Feel Unique

I know I just got my Rocco and then my Soul Cal bag from Republic, but I cant help but want this beautiful bag from Cath kidston! I have an addiction, but there is reasoning behind it. When I buy shoes.. sometimes they are too high and I cannot walk in them, therefore I have wasted my money on shoes I will never wear. Secondly I find clothes shopping really hard as I have an odd body shape and I differ in size in every shop. So it always leads to dissapointment..However with bags, you dont have that problem. They dont cause pain and they will always fit... so there you go, thats was me justifying why I like to buy handbags. ha!

I actually LOVE this shirt from Soul Cal, doesn't it just look so comfy! I know we are starting to get a bit warmer weather and I admit I have been shopping for a few summer essentials..hello flip flops. But I dont care, this shirt cant go astray. I love the colours, very Jack Wills-esque but at a more affordable price! I can just pucture chucking this on with a pair of skinnies and plimsoles and having a casual day at the weekend. I am in love. :-)
How gorgeous are these shoes!!! Okay, I am totally contradicting myself here as I know I wouldnt be able to walk in them but I would still buy them anyway! My sister has some similar from Miss Selfridge but she bought the size bigger than me so I cant borrow them! But dont worry girls, I wont be purchasing these any time soon, I need a 3 & the smallest size there is a 4! Its just not meant to be!...oh crap they have them in a 3 in black........

I've used Tigi products before and really liked them, so I definintley want to get some more to try. With moving into our own place this means that I wont have to watch where I leave items so they dont get pinched by my 19 year old sister, therefore I can invest in some nice shampoos /conditioners for myself. I love the idea of having big salon sized bottles in your bathroom. For a start, they are easier to use thanks to the pumps, secondly if you shop around you can get some good deals for these larger sizes therefore saving you money. I really want to give these a try. I will be investing as soon as I can!

There's my short and sweet wishlist of this week! Anything you girls have your eyes on at the moment?

Much Love

I'm getting back into doing my reviews of products as they always seem to go down well with you guys! Today I will be reviewing the Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask from Umberto Giannini. As you may have guessed I am a fan of Umberto Giannini products. I like mostly all of the products that I have tried with the exception of one or two. I find they are good value for money and do what they are meant to do!

Whenever my hair is feeling like it needs a bit of TLC, I always reach for some kind of hair mask. They can do wonders for your hair, and its a lot less expensive than going to the hair dressers to sort it out (although you should visit your hairdresser regularly every 6-8 weeks for a trim!) I do like to mix it up and try different brands but this is one hair mask that I have repurchased a few times.

You can get this mask from Boots and it costs a reasonable £5.61. There are always 3 for 2 or 2 for x amount deals on, so you should keep an eye out for them all the time and treat yourself to two of the same or two different products. This mask is best suited for dry, damaged or even processed hair through hair colouring. Its sole purpose is to replace the moisture in your hair that is lost from using the hairdryer or straighteners etc. It's not going to completely solve the problem but it is great for when you need to freshen up your locks and give them a bit of attention & a boost!

I have to say I do like the packaging of this mask, I know I don't normally comment on packaging but this time I am! Yes its a plain white tub with some writing on and a picture on the lid, but to me its very sleek and stylish looking. Like a high end conditioner you would purchase in a salon but for a much more affordable price!

The next thing I noticed with this mask is the scent. I'm not very good at describing smells but this does smell lovely. Some products can be really overpowering, and in the past that has put me off using them. Once I had such a strong scented shampoo/conditioner that I was actually nearly ill while in the shower using it because the smell was so strong! This however is very pleasant! :) The mask itself is thick in consistency as are most hair treatments of this kind. The mask is a pearly white colour, which matches perfectly to its packaging! It feels a bit 'bumpy' to touch, which I know sounds odd but if you have or are going to use it, you will know what i mean! but it does apply really well and evenly on your hair.

The mask is really easy to use, Obviously you shampoo as normal with whatever your choice of shampoo is. Then ring out any excess water and apply the mask to your hair from root to tip, but focusing more on your ends than your roots as this is where your hair is going to be most dry. The instructions on the tub say to leave it on for 3 minutes. But I try to leave it on longer, preferably 5. Then I know that it really has worked its way into my hair and it doing its job! This is easy to do if washing your hair is the first thing you do in the shower as then you can do all the other usual rituals before it comes to washing the mask off. After the time has lapsed, you just wash off the mask (At this point you can already feel a difference in your hair, Mine personally feels alot sleeker and easier to manage, and definitely moisturised) Finally follow with your usual conditioner routine.

I tend to leave my hair to dry naturally after I have used a mask. It just seems silly that I have used a mask to restore moisture and fix dryness and then go ahead and blast it with a load of hot air from the hairdryer! Once it is dried it feels so silky and smooth, I use a tangle teezer to brush through my hair anyway, but after using the mask the teezer literally just glides through my hair! It feels amazing! If you have split ends when you use the mask you can see a dramatic difference in them, although this is only a temporary fix and to really sort them you should book yourself in for a trim at your local hairdressers! I use this mask once a week as directed, my hair is fairly long and my tub will last me 1.5/2 months i would say, so its not bad at all!

Overall I think this product is fab. It's affordable, it's from a brand that often has special offers on so its good value for money. It makes my hair feel much more healthy and look loads better after using it. It smells yummy and does what it says it will do! I will (and have already) repurchase this mask and I recommend you to try it out if you're looking for a good conditioner to use on your hair once a week! :-)

I hope this has been helpful for you girlie's, looking forward to hearing what you think!

Much Love
