Project Bathrooom.

Hi Ladies.

unpacking I find is the worst part of the whole moving process as I have stated in previous posts. I realised when unpacking all my 'bathroom' stuff, that I actually have a lot..and I mean a lot... I managed to make room for Toms small collection of toiletries but still Mine are literally scattered everywhere.

I'd seen before on Lauren and Rosalyn's blogs that they have an on going project going on called 'project bathroom and I figured this would be a great thing for me to do, to A) Use up my multiple lotions and potions I have & B) Stop myself from buying anymore bathroom products as I do get sucked into the whole new product/'ooh its on offer I must have it' craze.

So heres a picture of the collection/mountain/pile/mound of things I hope to get through...

The 'rules' for me are along the lines as the Project 10 pan ones. Try to use up my products that I have neglected. During Project bathroom I am not allowed to purchase products in the same category as those I am trying to use up. ie, I cant go buy a new body moisturiser until I have used up all the ones I currently own.
I may do mini reviews of the products once I have used them up, if I have not reviewed them on the blog before. Would you like that?

I dont know how often I will post an update, maybe monthly, depending on the amount of products that get used up.  It would be an incentive to use a decent amount up each month I guess! :-)

Are any of you participating in a project 10 pan or Project bathroom at the moment?

Much love.

Depotting NYX Jumbo Pencils.

Saturday, 18 June 2011

You may have noticed a while ago I was attempting to sell my Jumbo pencils to de-clutter. In the end I had a change of heart and decided to keep them, and by doing so I was going to make sure I used them more often. As much as I liked them in pencil form, they were taking up a lot of room in my makeup drawers. I had heard that they were relatively easy to 'de pot' so I thought why not give that a go. I dont know what it is but I knew the product being in pot form would mean I would use them more often! So I thought I would show you guys how I did it incase you too have some pencils you want to de pot.

So firstly you need to find some pots to put the product in. In most youtube videos I watched, people used old sample pots from Mac /The Body Shop. Unfortunatly I didnt have any of these so I had to go on a abit of a mission to find something more suitable! In the end I picked up 6 stackable pots from Ebay. They only cost about £3 with postage, which wasnt too bad! I really liked the fact they were stackable, meaning they will take up less room in my makeup collection!

Once you have found your pots, the only other equipment you need is a hairdryer and a pair of pliers! It's so easy to do, but as a prewarning your arms really ache afterwards, so if you do have some sort of clamp to hold the pliers up instead of you doing it yourself, I reccomend it! (Think.. using Bunsen Burners at school and having to hold a beaker above it using those weird plier things!)

You need to remove the end from the pencil. They come off relatively easy, if you struggle a bit though, use your pliers to remove it. Now you should be able to see down into the pencil and see all the product inside. Next all you need to do it take the pliers and hold the pencil at the end over your pot facing downwards. Finally take your hairdryer and put it on a low speed setting at medium heat moving it up and down as you go.... You then literally wait..

As you heat up the pencils the product inside melts, therefore runs out of the end into your pot. Be careful, sometimes it can run out quickly and unexpectedly! So it is a bit of a messy process. My hands got pretty covered! It can take anything between 3 to 10 mins to remove all the product. Some of my pencils took a short amount of time but two took ages! My arms were killing! I definitely advise to take a bit of a break between them if you have a lot to do!

These are the final results! As you can see, my pots were a bit larger than sample sized pots meaning theres still quite a bit of space left in them. But I am happy it worked well and Love how it looks when they are all stacked up together! :-)
Will you be de potting any jumbo pencils you have? I would assume this technique would work for most makeup pencils, like the Barry M ones you can get!

Much Love

Oh hello Nars!

Thursday, 9 June 2011

Hi Girls, Hope everyone is well!

For a long time I have always wanted to own some products from NARS. A popular brand in the beauty community hosting cult favourites of many. Famous for their rubberised packaging and logo, I couldnt wait to get my hands on some of their range.
My prayers were answered in the form of the Glossy Box. Where I received the Orgasm Illuminator - Which I have used everyday since.

If I get a product from a particular brand and like it, I am then itching to try some other items which I was lusting after. After using the illuminator I knew I needed to get my hands on some other products.
Now personally I am not one to spend a lot on makeup. I would say I am a bit like 'Well why spend that much if I can get this cheaper alternative for a fraction of the price' however because it was payday and I saw all this money in my bank account, I had a bit of a splurge.

First up ASOS had 20% off selected items the other week, I decided to pick up the infamous 'Turkish Delight' lip gloss as I have wanted it for sooo long!  Sarah from City Girls Fashion Box managed to convince me to just go for it, adding that I may as well, as I could use the super saver delivery option if I was in no rush to receive the lip gloss, meaning it would cost me £14 in total. The reason why I have wanted this gloss for so long as it is the lip gloss favoured by Kim Kardashian. I love a pale pink lip so this was a must. Unfortunately I don't have Mac Angel lipstick to pair it with (like Kim does) However I do own Lazy Day's which looks even more lovely with a bit of Turkish delight slicked over the top! :-)

I think I got hit by a bit of a NARS fever because the next thing I knew I was on their website looking at their gift sets. I think gifts sets are great, as you can pick up a couple of items (admittedly some may be a smaller size) for a good price saving you money. As I have always wanted to own a multiple by NARS I went for the Sun Kissed gift set which retails at £34. It came with Copacabana Multiple, Dolce Vita lip gloss and a mini makeup primer. Firstly I love the little box that they came in. I will be incorprating it into my makeup storage for sure! Its too pretty to throw away! I knew I would love the multiple as I have been lusting after it for ages and it did not dissapoint. The lip gloss I am a bit unsure of. Its not my usual colour, but hey I guess i could try it, but for now its staying in my makeup drawer! And I am yet to try out the primer as I am currently using up my GOSH velvet touch one.

Now I have bought these items I am lusting after more, However my purse cannot handle it so I will just have to look at them from afar! The items I am most lusting after are the Bronzing Trio from the Portrait of Paradise collection and the eyeshadow palette Douceurs de Paris. A girl can dream.... or just put them on her birthday list! :-)
So really that was a post about the NARS products I now own! Do you guys own any Nars items, or is that a stupid question! hehe
Much Love.
