Bourjois Intense Eyeshadows

Thursday, 28 July 2011

Hi girls,

Hope everyone is well!
For my birthday the lovely
Robyn got me 2 of the Bourjois intense eyeshadows that I had been eyeing up, but convinced myself not to buy when we were shopping. Then she surprised me with them for my birthday! :-)

The two shadows, as you can see are very different from one another! I got the Black shade which is number 10. And a shimmery pink in number 03. These really were the only two shades which really caught my eye. I was obsessively swatching them in boots when I was with Robyn! lol.

The black shade is the blackest eyeshadow I have ever seen, I love it! Its very very pigmented, (hence the 'intense' name) A little goes a long way with this one, The slightest dab of the eyeshadow brush and you have a lot of product to work with. This is great for a smokey eye in the outer corners! - This is what I will use it for!

The pink shade has a lot of shimmer in it, and a lot of the time i avoid shimmery shadows but I really wanted this one for some reason! Its a nice subtle pinky shade with shimmer. I have been using this all over the lid paired with thick black liquid eyeliner and mascara as a daytime look for work! Again I love it :-)

Have you got any of the Bourjois Intense eyeshadows, or are you like how I was and admiring them from afar?

Much Love.

Project Bathroom Update #1

Tuesday, 26 July 2011

Hi girls.

Just after I moved I managed to squeeze in a Project Bathroom post, Obviously some time has passed and I have used up a few items, so I felt it was time to update you all!

James Brown Photo Fabulous Moisturising Shampoo & Conditioner.
I actually bought this on a whim, I saw the offer, (I think if I bought the two I got some money off or something), so I bought it. If im honest, I thought I had picked up the volumising shampoo but when I got home I realised I hadnt! Regardless, I really liked this S&C, The scent is so nice, its not too overpowering like some products I have used in the past. My hair really did feel less dry - My hair goes through stages of feeling really dry and horrible. I would repurchase this, If i were to use it for another month or so I feel as though it would really do my hair some good.

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub.
I have actually had this tub since Christmas! But I had other scrubs to use and Breakfast Scrub took poll position as I had heard great things about. You can read my review on it here. I honestly would say that Flake away is just as good though. The consistancy is a bit different - not so sticky - and scent wise, i dont feel like I want to eat it. haha. My skin felt really soft and smooth after using it and definitley more moisturised. Again like the other products I have used up I would repurchase this again.

Tesco Sensitive Cleansing Wipes
I knew I would use these up relatively quickly as they are an everyday item. I use them to part remove my makeup..Meaning I use them before my Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise routine. I personally like to feel as though I have taken some of my makeup off before getting stuck in with the 'proper' removal of all the slap I have worn throughout the day! They are super cheap Maybe even about 60p per pack of 25 wipes (i think). I always stock up on 2 packs when I pop into Tesco. They are also handy to keep in your handbag for any cleaning up needed throughout the day. They are generic facial wipes that freshen and move some (not all) make up from your face. I will repurchased and they are great value for money.

Boots Conditioning Nail Polish Remover Pads.
I actually bought these before I went away on holiday, so they werent in my original Project Bathroom post, but Ive used them up already so I dont think it can be classed as a fail! I wouldnt rave about them but I would definitley recommend them if you are a going away and dont want to take a bottle of remover and cotton pads. They removed the polish from my nails easily the only downside is that my fingers felt really oily and greasy after using them! I wouldnt regularly re purchase these, like I said they are good for those odd occassions where you go away somewhere and you need them as they are more convienient!

Clearly from looking at the original post, I have hardly made a dent in that mountain of products, but it is a start. A lot of those products were still pretty much full or were brand new. I am slowly making my way through them and I am not going to give up!

Any one else doing Project bathroom at the moment, or even thinking about doing one?

Much Love.

Hidden Beauty Gems.

Friday, 22 July 2011

Hi Ladies.

The other day i popped along to Pound Land to pick up some household essentials for the flat, loo roll, washing up liquid, sponges etc and found myself looking down the 'Beauty Aisle'.

I've been in there before and managed to pick up a couple of Sally Hansen nail items which I was dead chuffed about so I thought I would have a look to see if there were any gems lurking about the shelves. While eyeing up the shampoos and conditioners (as I used mine up in Project Bathroom) I discovered on the top shelf some VO5 products. I couldn't believe my luck, Since their revamp I have been more intrigued to try out their products, I already have their deep conditioning treatment and Miracle Concentrate, and next on my list was to test out the shampoos and conditioners.

I got the Revive Me Daily Shampoo & Conditioner in 250ml bottles. These retail in boots for £1.99 each so I haven't made a massive saving but I got 99p off each of them which I am still pleased about! If you would like me to review them, just let me know. :-)

I also needed some new toothpaste so I had a quick look and saw that they had some Arm & Hammer pastes. I had heard really good things about this brand being good for whitening so I picked up a tube of that too. I'm not sure how much this retails for usually as I think its varied between shops, possibly around £3?? I knew that picking it up for £1 I was still getting a bargain! :-)

Have you ever ventured into pound shops and found some hidden gems? Let me know in the comments! :-)

I have been lusting after this bag ever since I bought my black studded duffle bag. I was lucky enough to get it as a birthday present from my parents at the weekend. I love it so much! I know a lot of people bought the black and I wanted to be different with the grey. (EDIT: Laura aka Lollipop26 did a post on this bag the other day and now I think everyone has gone and bought it, from what I could see on twitter... so much for trying to be an individual eh! lol)

Regardless, I love it and I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it! Here's a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure.  It has the exact same measurements and details as my Black replica Rocco but its just in this lilacy/grey shade.

A couple of months ago I mentioned that I had bought a few products from the Naked range with my groupon voucher. I asked you guys what you would like reviewed and this scrub was the most requested. This is also part of my Project Bathroom stash to use up, I've used it a few times now so I thought I would jump ahead with reviewing it for you.

First up this tub is massive. I dont know if anyone else is like me but I never really look at the actual measurements of how big products are, I just jump in and buy them! I was expecting this tub to be about the same size as Flake Away from Soap and Glory. When it arrived I was shocked to see it was much bigger, there is 450ml of product in there! Now for £6.99 I think that it pretty bargainous! The product itself is 97% natural made up of Dead Sea Salt, seaweed extract and Almond oil. It has a very fresh 'sea like' scent to it! - Im sorry I am rubbish at describing scents! - This is an online exclusive so you can only get it from their website,

Its really compact into the tub, so at first It was a bit tough to get some product out - But i think this was due to the fact I was so used to a runnier consistancey from previous scrubs. When you massage the scrub all over you the salt dissolves which then leaves a moisturising oily mixture on your skin, dont fret though, if you arent a fan of oily products on your skin, once you are out of the shower or bath this texture seems to fade and your skin is left really soft!  The good thing about it is that a little goes a long way, I really didnt need to use that much to cover my entire body. I love this because it means this is going to last me a long time, I hate it when you get some scrubs and within a couple of weeks its all gone! This one will last me at least a month!

My skin definitley felt a lot more smoother and fresher after using the scrub. Its not too abrasive on your skin like some scrubs can be, which I like, because its the worst feeling when you use a scrub like this, and then come out of the shower or bath feeling like your skin has been scrubbed raw!

I will be repurchasing this scrub once I run out. It's really done a good job, and has lasted a long time. It's cheaper than my other fave scrub by soap and glory (Breakfast Scrub reviewed here ) So I wont feel so guilty making another purchase!

What Naked Bodycare product should I review next?

Much Love
