This has been my go to make up for a while now. However I will be honest and today I did swap my Skin Base for the Jemma Kidd Light as Air foundation  as I couldn't wait to try it out! First Impressions? Well I am a bit peeved that the tube isn't full (about a third of it is just air!) I do feel a bit like I have wasted my well earned cash a bit, but hey it may become my HG foundation so we will see.

If you follow me on twitter you would have seen yesterday that I tweeted about the fact that before I started blogging I never bought makeup items 'just because'. I always waited till whatever product I was using ran out and then of course I would pop to boots and buy a replacement. These days (well since starting blogging) I buy a lot of things because others rave about it and I feel I'm missing out by not having it in my 'collection ' (Hello Light as air, I'm looking at you) or if I find something that in my head is a lower end dupe for something high end that I maybe cannot afford at the time I'll snap it up. I know I'm not the only one that does this!

So it got me thinking, I don't want to label it as a 'makeup ban' or whatever, I just want to look at my collection and start to actually FINISH products rather than just going out and buying something new because everyone says its amazing. I have so many products that If I just used them on a regular basis, they would be finished in no time. I know a lot of girls change up their makeup on a weekly basis and blog about it ( Charli, Lauren, Adrienne) I don't think I will do this as a weekly thing, I may just take a selection of products that I just want to get finished and then use them continuously until I have done so. Of course I will keep you all up to date on this by blogging about it!  :-) So is anyone else going to join me on this little (big) task? Or maybe you are also doing something similar to reduce your collection of makeup? Let me know in the comments!

Much Love

  4. Love the look of the VIVO blush! I haven't tried any of their products yet! But I'm with you on the using up more products...I'm pretty bad at buying makeup and nail varnish that's hyped or blogged about - I've put myself on a ban on buying any more eyeshadows until I've used up what I have :) xx

  5. Love this. I'm on a little makeup-spending-ban this January to see whether I can use up some of the products in my ever-expanding collection before buying more. 11 days in and it's going well so far. Also bought Light as Air after Christmas, wasn't overly thrilled at first but after a few weeks of use I'm loving it! Also, although the tube isn't the most attractive or luxurious but it's perfect for travelling (no more lugging around glass Chanel foundation bottles is always a win in my book). x

  6. I totally agree with you about trying to use up more products now! I'm not really on a make up spending ban but I'm definitely going to only make considered purchases from now on. There's no point having it if I'm not going to use it after all! xoxo

  7. I'm doing something similar. Not a full on ban but being more realistic about whether I actually (a) need something and (b) will use it. I'm on a definite eyeshadow ban - I don't use half the ones I've got and I don't really *need* anymore blushes however am allowing myself the new one from the Chanel S/S 2012 collection as have been lusting after it ever since I saw the press release a while ago. This ban is, in part, to make me use more of what I've got, but also to make me be more responsible about my spending.
