Beauty: Out of my comfort zone : A Fuscia Pink Lip

Friday, 4 April 2014

So if you saw my post about the MUA Luxe velvet lip lacquer you will know that I am trying to make more of an effort to wear brighter shades of lipsticks. I've got enough 'my lips but better' and peachy pink shades to last me a lifetime. But it's time to give some other brighter, bolder shades a go and experiment a little. There are many bloggers than can rock a brighter lip on a daily basis but for some bizarre reason it scares me a little. Maybe it's because I am not used to it?

I won this YSL lipstick n Fuscia Tourbillon on twitter a couple of months ago. It's a lot brighter than I would usually wear but I really like it. It s part of their Spring 2014 collection. As t s a Rouge Volupte lipstick it has a very glossy smooth finish making it very easy to apply, but due to this consistency it is one you will find yourself reapplying after a few hours.

I really like the shade, I actually apply it with a lip brush rather than straight from the bullet as I can control the amount I wear this way. I find if i apply it directly it's a bit too bright for my liking so using a lip brush to apply it in small doses means I can build up the intensity of the colour to something I am more comfortable with.

I only have one other lipstick from YSL and that is in the shade nude beige (surprise surprise) I think they are such lovely lipsticks, the packaging alone makes you want to show them off on your dressing table. It's just a shame that they are quite pricey! How nice it would be to have a nice little row of them on display in a variety of shades!

Have you tried this lipstick, or maybe you have a favourite shade from YSL? Let me know in the comments.

Much Love,
