Beauty : Playing with Mac Pigments.

Friday, 24 October 2014

We all have those days where we aren't really sure what to do with ourselves so we delve into our makeup collection & have a little play. I'm no make-up artist so most of the time I just wing it and hope for the best. I recently bought myself a Mac Holiday 2013 set from my local CCO and I really wanted to play around with the colours.

These are just a few of the looks I've created, which I thought I would share with you.

This is a very Autumnal look, which would also be very fitting for halloween. Can I say I was channeling Pumpkin glamour? I used a  mixture of 'Naked', 'Buck' & 'DarkHorse' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette plus the Mac Copper Sparkle Pigment from the set. I think what makes this look in particular is having the copper pigment along the lower lashline. To line the eyes I used Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner along with a mixture of Barry M lash Vegas & Lancome Hypnose mascara. On my lips I have Beauty UK Gloss in Coffee Cake, which is the perfect nude lip and such a bargain at only a few pounds!

The pigment 'Museum Bronze' is the most pigmented of the bunch, so a little went a long way. I packed the colour all over my lids, Then used a bit of Nars Laguna to blend it out a little along the crease. To deepen it up a bit and create more of a smokey look I added Creep from the Original Naked palette into the outer v and through the crease ever so lightly. Just like the previous look I used the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner  with Lancome Hypnose Mascara. Finally I dug out my Mac lipstick in Lazy Day and lightly applied this to my lips.

It's probably a bit early for Christmas looks, but I couldn't resist having a little play when I saw the  gorgeous gold glitter pigment staring at me! I knew exactly what I wanted to create using it. I dug out my Nars Ride up to the moon palette for the base of this look.I used the shade Agentina all over the lid, which is a shimmery light gold shade. Followed by Cordura in the outer V and through the crease. Using eyelash glue, I applied the gold glitter pigment over the majority of the lid. Finished off a little bit of Rimmel Scandal Eyes liner and Lancome mascara. I kinda followed this tutorial by Shannon to create this look if I am honest! Finally I used the MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless on my lips!

It's quite fun having a play around seeing what different looks you can create. I will admit I tend to stick to the same look on a day to day basis so it was nice to have a play around & create something different. Especially when I didn't have any time restrictions! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments which is your favourite!
