Beauty: The Glamour Summer Edit beauty box.

Tuesday, 16 June 2015

It’s been a while since I received some form of beauty box in the post. I gave up the subscription services over a year ago now. Admittedly they were great for getting stocked up on miniatures or trying something new but I preferred to have more control over what would be arriving. This is why every so often I pop along to Latest in Beauty and see what boxes they have on offer. I’ve not been too phased by the choices really until recently when I spotted the Glamour Summer Edit box. I remember a lot of a people went crazy for the Spring edit, so after having a look at the contents I swiftly picked up my purse, got out my card and hit the  proceed to checkout button.

The Basis of this particular box, is that it includes all the essentials you will need this summer. Picked by Alessandra Steinherr the Beauty Director at Glamour magazine and with it being worth a total of £117.99 you know it’s going to be jammed full of great and useful products. You receive 9 products all together, some travel sized, others full sized. This includes a Bourjois Colour boost Lip crayon (£7.99), in my case I received ‘Peach on the beach’ which is a lovely coral colour, perfect for summer. Also a Nails Inc GelEffect polish (£15) in the shade Uptown. A beautiful muted pink shade, which I am yet to try however going by reviews online I’m sure I’ll be impressed.

There are products included in this edit which scream summer holiday essentials. This includes the miniature versions of the L’occitaneShampoo & Conditioner (£6.50) Hotel freebies are great and everything but it’s always nice to take some of your own! The Balance Me Super Toning bodypolish (£18 full size) will be great to use pre holiday to get your skin in tip top condition of optimum tanning! Speaking of getting a tan, the Eucerin Sun Care Skin Fluid SPF 50 (£16) is probably the most important product in this box. A high factor, ultra light facial sunscreen perfect for keeping your face protected from the suns harmful UV Rays. I really don’t understand how people still go without sun protection while on holiday and on a day to day basis to be honest. It’s so important! A bit of a quirky addition to the summer edit box are the tattoo transfers from Sun Seekers (from£10) whether you just want to mess around with them at home, pop them on for a festival or add a little something extra to your summer outfits. Even if you don’t want them to be seen, I’m sure using these temporary tattoos will bring back many nostalgic memories!

Having tried the Vita Liberata tan before, I was pleased to see their Trystal Minerals bronzer (£35) included in the box. I am rather intreged by this product. It's a bronzer with self tanning minerals within it, to ensure you achieve a perfect facial tan said to last up to 5 days. Although facinated by it, I am a bit scared to try it out. Fake tan disasters on your face aren't the best! I'll have to have a play with it and report back! The final two products are 2 which I have wanted to try out for a long time after hearing rave reviews. The pixi Glow Tonic (£18 full size) and the Caudalie Divine Oil (£27 full size) will be welcome additions to my daily routines. Im a bit gutted the pixi glow tonic is in such a small bottle, but I guess if its amazing I'll be purchasing a full sized one quickly! I see what you did there Pixi/Latest in Beauty!

Overall I am really pleased with the contents of this box, it's such good value for money too.  Have you tried any of the boxes from Latest in Beauty? Which have been your favourite?

Much Love,

  2. What a fabulous box! It seems like great value for money, I sometimes buy the L'occitane shampoo and conditioner but it can be quite pricey! I love small sample sizes for travelling too.
