Even though around December & January you shouldn't really buy anything for yourself I couldn't resist making a few cheeky purchases to update my makeup bag. It had been a while since I had really treated myself to anything new makeup wise. I'd been revisiting my collection and using forgotten products to mix it up a bit. Despite condensing down my collection a lot, I still have more than the average person meaning I've had a fair bit to choose from.
The newest addition to my makeup bag is the NARS All day Luminous weightless foundation, which was actually a gift from Tom for Christmas. I have it in the shade Deauville, which is a perfect match for me. I used the website findation to work out what shade would be best as I don't have any NARS counters nearby. I highly recommend using it if you want to work out what shade you are. First impressions of this foundation is that I love it. A little definitely goes a long way, the coverage is really buildable. I like to use my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge to apply it, giving an airbrushed finish. This is my first dip into the world of NARS foundations. Even though I am enjoying using this particular one, I would like to try Sheer Glow in the future as it's raved about by many!
I've been a subscriber to Jaclyn Hill for a while now. When she announced she was collaborating with BECCA Cosmetics & bringing out a highlighting powder I knew I wanted to get my hands on it. Well Champange Pop wasn't available for a long time, I believe it was on back order at Cult Beauty. So I decided to give Space NK a try instead... well there it was in stock ... take my money! It actually arrived while I was away so I've only been able to play around with it in the last week or so. Well I bladdy love it! It's such a beautiful golden highlight. If you are big on your highlighters & are umming and ahhing about purchasing Champange Pop. Just do it. You wont regret it.
I popped into Sephora while over in Dubai. The prices over there don't work out any cheaper than what I would pay in the UK so I didn't go too crazy. I did however ensure that I made my way to the Kat Von D display to pick up the much loved Tattoo Liner in Trooper. Again having heard many good things about this liner it was a must have. As first impressions go, I did think I picked up a dud the first couple of times I used it, the colour wasn't as black as others had made out it would be, so I felt a bit annoyed. However after a couple more goes the true black came through and now it's perfect. I don't know what went on there! It really does last all day as others have claimed, so I am happy I decided to purchase it. The other Kat Von D product I decided to treat myself to is the Lock it Concealer, I was tempted by the foundation but as I already had the NARS one I didn't really need another. The Lock It Concealer is quite thick in consistency but it does a brilliant job of covering up any dark circles or blemishes! I bought the lightest shade they had on offer which was Light 18. Which to be honest is just about okay for me, I would have preferred it a little bit lighter but I can make it work!
Overall I am really pleased with the new additions to my makeup bag. Have you tried any of the products I purchased?
