BOOKS : #Secretsantabookswap Gifts.

Wednesday, 6 January 2016

As you may be aware I am part of a little blogger book club. Back in November Lorna from Lorna Literally came up with the idea of arranging a little Secret Santa style book swap with fellow members and other book bloggers within the community for Christmas.

I thought it was a good idea, so after passing on information of my favourite genres and what I liked to read, I waited to be informed who I would be buying for. Unlike the conventional Secret Santa, where you have no idea who is buying for you. we were paired up instead.  Matched up based on our likes when it came to authors and genres with a limit of £10 to spend. I think this was a good way to approach it as it meant you would both be on a similar wave length when it came to buying the gift, which hopefully would result in you both enjoying the books you would receive.

I was paired up with Jenny from Life is Full of Books, having similar tastes in genres I was looking forward to receiving my gift from her! Jenny sent my gifts in a gorgeous gold glitter box, she really got into the festive spirit. Inside I found 3 gifts wrapped up ( I may have been an eager beaver and opened them without thinking to take a photo first!) First a cute little Christmas tree decoration which she hit the nail on the head with when it came to the style. We have a few rustic looking decorations for our tree so it fits in well with the others! I was lucky enough to get two books from Jenny which I was really happy about as I was only really expecting to get one! As Jenny and I are both fans of the crime/thriller genre she had sent me two books from one of her favourite authors; Fergus McNeil.

Reading the blurbs of each book has made me excited to get stuck in and give them a read. I think they will be ones I will enjoy for sure. I love a good crime book, I always try to work out 'whodunnit' before the plot reveals itself! It's like a mini challenge! Jenny has picked really well, I would say these would be books I would pick out for myself if I was looking for a new book series to try. After having a stalk of her good reads profile and a read through her reviews on her blog, we were definitely well suited to be paired up for this Secret Santa book swap! Well Done Lorna! I just hope she likes what I got her!

Have you taken part in any secret santa gift swaps this year?

Much love,

  2. No santa swaps for me but this is a great idea. It would be good to send digital copies too for those with a kindle :)

  3. AH,t his looks like a lovely swap. I took part in a couple this Christmas, as I run one every year on my blog. I love the sound of a blogger's book club!
